10 weeks and 20 women with 1 mission: Soul Care
Some years ago, during my inter-provincial travels between Montreal and Toronto, I found myself declaring that I would like to be baptized. At the time, I was already deep in regular Bible study, devotion and talking to God, so I thought that this would happen sooner rather than later, but it actually took some time for me to journey to this point. Even though I already had a faithful practice, I didn’t feel like it was enough to be baptized but my journey to baptism taught me 2 things: You
Happy New Month! As we officially embark on month number five of 2017, it’s hard to believe that we’re already, almost halfway through the year! Despite my circumstances, I would say I’m handling things extremely well and remaining faithful that my ‘someday’ will be coming soon. My new coffee mug (seen above) has been a big help! It has definitely been a year for transition. I’m making it a habit to do things I’ve never done, in an effort to live a life I’ve never lived. It has certainly caused
My heart is always so filled with contentment and gratitude when I consider that, not only have I been given the opportunity of life, but that I’ve been created with love and individuality. The body as a system still amazes me to this day: the food processing system, the healing system, the feeling system, the thinking system, the natural blood flow and breathing system; all working together to make us who we are and who we will be. I was pointing out to my mother the other day how there are a few places in the Bible where suffering and endurance are mentioned before having the victory and I think it’s important to pay attention to that purposeful piece of scripture, because God wants us to know that suffering and struggle are inevitable, but if you keep hoping for a better tomorrow and hope with joy in your heart, then you will be perfect, established, strengthened and settled.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4: 6-7 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” ~John 16: 33
The best way to find peace in any situation, is to give it up. Just let go of the thoughts, feelings, frustrations and worries. Nothing you can do will change the situation, so it doesn’t make sense to dwell on it and continue to cause stress for yourself. At the end of the day, what happens in your life is not up to you. As much as we have the freedom of choice, we would all be better off to consult with God and have Him guide our decisions and
If you want to do something good in this life and you believe in the Lord, there’s really no reason why you can’t do it. I think the mistake we make is that we depend on ourselves to achieve the greatest things in life, when God is ready, willing and able to show us the way and see us through. The other mistake we make is that we don’t truly and honestly and fully and whole-heartedly believe. I had to get to some of the lowest points in my life
