How To Win The Respect Of Others

Many people will tell you that you have to give respect to earn respect which is only partially true. I mean how satisfied can you be with someone respecting you, only because you respect them? What about all your hard work and sacrifice? Shouldn’t that be a strong basis for someone to respect you?

I believe that true respect is earned and it’s earned through our work and the way we are. For example, people who humble themselves, they refrain from judging others and are not loud, obnoxious or boastful are highly respected because they do good work and don’t go around bragging about it nor do they try to condemn their neighbor. Instead, their work is shared between them and their God and they expect nothing in return.

And I can’t say enough about the man who works hard for what he has and to be able to provide for others. It’s such a blessing when you can work to earn what you need without having to beg, borrow or steal. We should all aim for this type of humbled, hard working and independent life, because when you do good work, people notice and that in itself deserves respect.

1 Thessalonians 4 11-12
